Our Philosophy

Phase 1

At Bodies In Training we start Phase 1 of rehabilitating your life by aligning your body, your mind and your soul using a variety of techniques, but primarily Cranial Sacral Therapy/Emotional Release Work and Energy Healing. “Think about when you put a sheet on a bed. You pull on one corner of the sheet and can see tension across to the other side of the mattress. Likewise, when you have an injury, surgery, illness, this creates a tension pattern in the body that can impact tissue far removed from the original injury. CST is a way to release this tension in the body.” By releasing the soft tissue restrictions and compensations of the body we allow the bony structure to align itself. However, there are times when other work is needed to achieve this alignment. That is where the Emotional Release work and other techniques come into play. One thing you need to know, here at Bodies In Training, we expect our clients to be full participants in their quest for greater health and freedom. You will be given homework to be accomplished between visits. Once we achieve a habitually correct alignment you will be ready to go on to Phase 2 of your program.

Phase 2

Now that you are starting to feel better, see more clearly, and move with less effort you will need to strengthen the supporting muscles of the body to be able to maintain the new you. Phase 2 will concentrate on flexibility and strengthening of your body with particular focus to the core muscle. The additional benefits of phase 2 are increased energy, increased self confidence and improved posture, and redesigning of the way your body looks. To accomplish this phase we use a combination of Pilates Mat and Reformer exercise and Cardio Heart Rate Training on a treadmill. Pilates is a contemporary, anatomically based exercise method of stretching, breathing, and strengthening core muscles of the body. Joseph H. Pilates developed it in the 1920s for dancers and athletes who needed to trade high-impact, repetitive workouts for a more methodical system of exercise. Physical therapists, professional athletes, and many sports enthusiasts such as golfers, tennis players, skiers and runners are using this "mind-body" approach to optimal fitness. Pilates is an all-gain, no-pain system of exercise that is quickly gaining popularity among the injured or repetitive natured athletes and workers in our country. It is a low impact neuromuscular system of exercising that achieves significant results and feels so good to do that people are becoming hooked on it from their first session.

At this point you are feeling better physically, with minimal pain, sleeping better at night, having more stamina and energy to get through your day, feeling more confident and better about yourself and life in general….BUT IT DOESN’T END HERE!! On to Phase 3.

Phase 3

Included in this phase we will begin to detoxify your body of toxins and impurities using a Far-Infrared Sauna and Bodies In Training will teach you the importance of juicing fresh vegetables and eating a healthy balanced diet that corresponds to your bodies needs. This is determined by Bio-nutritional Testing done with an EAV machine.

To understand E.A.V. (Electro- acupuncture According to Voll), it is helpful to first learn some simple principles of acupuncture. In acupuncture, there are areas along channels of energy or meridians that have a different electrical conductivity called acupuncture points which connect all the systems of the body together. These points and channels of energy can correspond to specific areas, systems and organs of the body. Most of these channels have control end points located on the ears, hands and feet. In the 1950's, a German physician, Dr. Reinhold Voll, developed an electrical device called a dermatron to measure and monitor the conductivity of acupuncture points. Dr. Voll's device had a meter with a scale that went from 0 to 100, with a reading of 50 representing optimal or good health. Above 55 might indicate too much energy or inflammation; below 45 could indicate low energy or a degenerated condition. Currently in many parts of the world, these types of electrical devices are used in doctor's offices, hospitals and clinics to aid the health practitioner to determine food allergies, or to indicate specific supplements a person might need or use to improve their condition.

Dr. Toshiko Yamazaki, M.D. owns a clinic in Japan where she has done extensive research on the therapeutic uses of Far infrared. In her book, "The Science of Far-Infrared Therapies," she explains that one of the reasons Far-Infrared has beneficial results in a variety of illnesses is the ability of Far infrared waves to remove toxins, which are often at the core of many health problems. Since humans are bio-accumulators, toxins that cannot be expelled immediately after entry are stored in our bodies.

You’ll learn to use visualization, meditation, and breathing. You will be given the occasion to explore your inner dialogues and how they affect your daily routine and those with whom you interact.

We would like to say, at this point, you are finished, but at Bodies In Training we understand the more we know, the more we realize what we don’t know and so the journey will continue. You will persist in that journey with a new YOU and many more tools to assist you in that journey. Hopefully, for all of us, we will carry on with new found friends, because we want to be your friend and your support in a long and mutually rewarding relationship.
